All art works focus on a narrow geographical area of south Sunderland. Art works explore domesticity in an environment of urban decay. This was done through creation of artworks which were documented site specific installations.
Tradition? is a piece of graffiti which has been stenciled 4 times with a freehand cut stencil onto walls and floors around Sunderland. It is painted with ceramic materials (porcelain slip and blue body stain) and the imagery is a blue and white willow pattern plate. Documented as video, stop motion photography and photographs. Screen-printed directly onto a gallery wall has been used as an image transfer method. The most important element to the work, was using traditional ceramic methods (printing/stenciling) and materials (porcelain).
